Why is Certification Important to Diverse Suppliers?
Diverse businesses are increasingly seeking opportunities to do business with Fortune 500 companies and federal government agencies. Many of the Fortune 500 companies have supplier diversity initiatives that include annual diversity spend goals. These goals are in place to promote the inclusion of diverse suppliers into their supply chain. The trend is to count spend with CERTIFIED suppliers whose diversity status has been validated and confirmed by a 3rd party certifying agency. Many companies will not count spend with uncertified diverse suppliers with whom they are currently doing business as these suppliers have not been confirmed as being diverse. Therefore, being a certified diverse supplier is a competitive advantage. Similarly, federal government agencies have small business utilization goals and count spend with small, women-owned and SBA (8a, SDB and HUBZone) certified suppliers.
The Difference
What makes us stand out from the rest? A great number of diverse businesses are being encouraged by their customers to become certified, if eligible. Diverse businesses understand the importance of obtaining certification, however, they often do not have the knowledge or resources to pursue certification in house. We provide the services to fill this gap. We guide our clients through the process from beginning to end, directing them through certification and teaching them how to leverage their diversity status once certified.
